What we're all about

Here at writersbloc, we crave creativity, we welcome a challenge, and we refuse to ask for directions. We're building a community of readers and writers who thrive off one another's brainpower. If you're haunted by writer's block, relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy collaborating with others to create the greatest stories the world has ever known!

The typical story flows like this:
There once lived a big dog named Harvey.
He went to the vet.
Then he got some shots.
He said thank you and paid his bill.
Then he rolled on something dead and took a nap.
Here at writersbloc, each part of the story can be rewritten.
If you have a different idea of how the story should go, you can make it happen.

You can read as much as you like without an account, but to contribute to blocs, or start your own, you'll need to sign up. It's totally free and we promise not to barrage you with a ton of emails you don't want.

The bloc display page

This is the heart and soul of writersbloc. Here, you can read authors' different continuations of stories. You can read and make comments, bookmark posts, tell us how you feel about them, follow the authors you like, and enjoy at least the second best part of your day.

The default display of posts is called Bloc View.
The post on the left is called the parent post. This can be the first post of this bloc, or further on in the story.
There once lived a big dog named Harvey.
He went to the vet.
He ate some grass.
He went to the park.
He slept all day long.
All the posts on the right, called child posts, will be different continuations of the story, each one starting from where the parent post left off.
The alternate display is called Page View. There are two ways to view posts in this setting.
Multi post view

The top post will always be the parent post. Each post below that will be continuations of the story from where the parent post left off.

The search page

You can search by title, author, or post text. Try it. You can sort the results by different categories to find exactly what you're looking for.

The author profile

If you read something you like, check out that author's profile. Each author on writersbloc has a profile page showing off everything they write and what they've been getting into on their favorite site.
